2011 CMS Cross Country Preview
The men’s and women’s cross country teams are both the reigning SCIAC Champions and have each qualified for the NCAA Championships in three straight years. Here is a preview of the 2011 season which both teams hope concludes at the NCAA Championships in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

10K Records Highlight Distance Carnival Performances
Kris Brown and Jennifer Tavé both broke the CMS record in the 10,000 meters at the Occidental Distance Carnival on Friday night to highlight a strong overall performance by the CMS distance team. Tavé’s time of 35:22.27 broke a 27-year old record and Brown’s time of 30:40.08 broke a 23-year old record.

Both XC Teams And Seven Individuals Earn All-Academic Honors
The men's and women's cross country teams along with seven athletes earned All-Academic honors from the United State Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as announced by the USTFCCCA this week.

XC NCAA's: Stags 19th, Athenas 20th, Tavé All-American
The men's and women's cross country teams competed at the NCAA Division III Championships on Saturday in Waverly, IA. The Stags finished 19th and the Athenas finished 20th. Jennifer Tavé finished seventh individually and earned All-American honors.

Both Cross Country Teams Qualify For NCAA Championships
The men's and women's cross country teams are both headed to the NCAA Division III Championships in Waverly, IA after competing in Saturday's West Region Meet. The Athenas won the race and the Stags finished a close second and both teams earned automatic bids to Nationals.

The men's and women's cross country teams finished first at the SCIAC Championships at Prado Park on Saturday morning. The Stags scored 32 points and the Athenas scored 47.

CMS showed why they are one of the top ranked teams in the West Region and the nation as the men and the women both finished 7-0 at the SCIAC Multi-Duals.

Athenas Finish Third, Stags Finish Fourth At Griak
The men's and women's cross country teams fared well in their first in-season competition off of the West Coast. The teams competed at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, MN, one of the biggest meets in the country, against several nationally ranked teams.

Fast Times For Cross Country Teams At UC Riverside
The mens and womens cross country teams both finished ninth at the UC Riverside Invitational on Saturday with the men scoring 266 points and the women scoring 282. Both teams finished a close second in scoring among non-Division I teams.

Cross Country Teams Race Well At UC Irvine
The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps cross country teams raced at the UC Irvine Invitational on Saturday and both teams had impressive results. The women won the open race with 44 points and the men finished fourth in the invitational race with 134 points.

The cross country teams took their annual trip to Santa Barbara for the Nationball Classic against Westmont on Saturday and both teams had seven runners among the top 11 finishers.
