Coming from the Land of Enchantment (Albuquerque, NM), and Mark Pallardy and Susan Page, Russell Page attended Albuquerque High School. Originally a baseball player, he finally saw the light and started seriously pursuing distance running during his junior year at AHS. By senior year, he became captain on the cross country and track teams finishing in the top 50 at the State Cross Country Championships and in the top five in two events in the Track & Field District Meet. His 5K PR is 17:12 (run at altitude). He was also named to the Academic All-District teams in both sports.
Russell will be attending CMC aiming to major in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. He chose CMC for its emphasis on government and politics and also for its excellent food. Outside of running, he was also valedictorian of his class, the lead singer in a punk rock band and a political activist. This year, he will be a staff writer for the Claremont Port Side (the progressive campus publication). He hopes to improve as a runner this year and gain more experience in the sport.
