Matt Cummins, son of David and Maureen, is a junior Engineering major at Harvey Mudd College and comes here from Martin Luther King High School in Riverside, CA.  A runner since grade nine, he was team MVP, All-League, All-County and Athlete of the Year as well as team captain, two mile record holder and CIF qualifier.  After placing 31st at West Regionals his freshman year at CMS, he has been battling shin injuries that have impeded his progress and left him on the sidelines on numerous occasions.  Despite this, his love of running and the team keeps him training towards one day hopefully regaining the promise he once showed.  This past March, he had surgery on his shins in order to correct his Chronic Compartment Syndrome.  In addition to running and studying, Matt also serves on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, a go-between for the student body and the NCAA.
