Julia Harreschou is currently a freshman at Scripps College.  She was raised in sunny Santa Monica, CA by parents Joyce Rosenbaum and Murray Harreschou.  She went to Santa Monica High School where she was involved in a variety of activities ranging from painting, the cross country, track and tennis teams, Circle of Friends and the Spanish Club.  Julia has only participated in cross country for one year, but ran track for two seasons including one where she was elected team captain.  In her lone cross country season, she was MVP and both the cross country and track teams finished second in the Ocean League.  Her best race was a 5K at Pepperdine where she ran 20:14.

She plans on majoring in Sociology, Psychology and Anthropology and then attending graduate school to teach.  She has played tennis since she was three, but switched to running because she felt more passionate about it and continues to run because of that 'runner's high'.
