Athenas Improve to 3-1 in SCIAC

CLAREMONT, CA -- The CMS Athenas (10-12, 3-1 SCIAC) traveled to Las Flores Pool to face the La Verne Leopards for their fourth SCIAC match. The Athenas came out on top with a 14-9 win.

The Athenas were ahead for the entire game - with an especially strong fourth quarter. Ten of the fourteen goals came from the senior class - Abigayle Lin (Honolulu, HI) had five goals, Danielle Welch (Mercer Island, WA) had four and Kristyn Ross (Woodland Hills, CA) had one. Kristina Norrgard (SO, Old Greenwich CT) had her first two goals in SCIAC games, and the other points came from Jennifer Ward ( JR, Davis, CA) and Jeanne Kelber ( FR, Carlsbad, CA).

The Athenas next match up is against the Redlands Bulldogs on April 17 at Axelrood Pool at 7pm and it is the seniors’ last home game.
