Athenas LAX Pummel Tigers

CLAREMONT, CA -- The Athenas continue to cruise through the SCIAC as they pour on points against another SCIAC opponent in Occidental. CMS defeated Occidental 23-3 on Saturday.

The Athenas did not convert as many free-position shots as they would like, converting only 2-5 shots in the first-half, but an early 13-2 lead which included ten unanswered-goals  more than made up for their lack of free-position conversions. The massive deficit would be too much for the Tigers, as the Athenas opened the second half with a six-goal run and closed out with a four-goal run.

Senior Devon Scott (Portland, OR [pictured]) scored a game-high five goals on eight shots while Sarah Dick (JR, Beverly, MA) and Madi Shove (FR, Portola Valley) scored four goals each. Occidental had very limited scoring opportunities, losing the draw-control battle 24-5 and shooting on-goal only nine times to the Athenas 35.

The Athenas look to continue their SCIAC conference unbeaten streak at home against Redlands on Wednesday, April 14th @ 7:30 PM.
