Miles Hired As Women's Lacrosse Coach
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps announces the hiring of Ginger Miles as
the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach and Instructor of Physical
Education. Miles is a 2006 graduate of the University of Virginia's
College of Arts and Sciences with a degree in Government. She was a
volunteer assistant coach at her alma mater in 2009 while working
as an admissions counselor in the Outreach Office for the
University of Virginia Office of Undergraduate Admissions. She
spent three seasons coaching the Blue Ridge Lacrosse Club and
coached the Virginia Western Region squad to a gold medal at the
2008 Commonwealth games. In two years as the assistant coach of
Western Albemarle High school, the team was named 2007 Jefferson
District Champions and 2008 Regional and District Champions. Miles
was part of the 2007 and 2008 VHSL Coaching Staff of the Year for
Central Virginia.
During her time as a goalkeeper at Virginia, the Cavaliers recorded
one NCAA championship (2004) and two ACC championships (2004 &
2006). She earned ACC All-Tournament Team and All-ACC Academic Team
honors in 2006. Miles is ranked seventh overall in all-time career
saves and tied for sixth in season saves.
