Jason Romero returns for his second year coaching at CMS in the high jump, long jump, and triple jump.  As an athlete he competed in the high jump (7-1¾) ,long jump (25-9), and triple jump (52-4) at Cal State Northridge. He was a national qualifier in the high jump in 2003 and in the long jump in 2005. In 2004 he was named Big West Field Athlete of the Year winning conference championships in the long and triple, as well as placing third in the high jump.

In 2008, Romero was an assistant at Ganesha High School in Pomona.  In 2007, at Diamond Ranch High School he assisted for one year and then became the Head Coach in 2009-2010. In 2009 he was named San Gabriel Valley Girls Coach of the Year.  While at these programs they produced several CIF Championships and three individual State Champions.  Romero assisted State Champion, Terry Prentice to repeat titles in the long jump (PR 24-6) and 110 hurdles and Karen Dunn to a State Championship in the long jump (20-6).   

He earned a B.S in Kinesiology and teaching credentials from California State University, Northridge. Currently Romero is in the process of obtaining a Masters in Coaching and Athletic Administration at Concordia University (Irvine).   He is married to Lesley Romero and has a newborn son named Blase Arthur Romero.
