Both Track Teams and Nine Individuals Earn All-Academic Honors
The men's and women's track & field teams along with nine athletes earned All-Academic honors from the United State Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as announced by the USTFCCCA this week. To qualify for the All-Academic award, all members of the team must average a cumulative GPA of 3.10 or better and individuals must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or better and have achieved a provisional qualifying mark for the NCAA Championships.
Five men earned individual honors: Taylor Berliant, Kristopher Brown, Georgi Dinolov, Jeff Macdonald and Bennett Naden. Four women earned individual honors: Riley Grime, Madeleine Miller, Laura Sauvage and Jennifer Tavé.
The Athenas had a cumulative GPA of 3.427 for their 38 athletes and the Stags had a cumulative GPA of 3.321 for their 53 athletes. Nationally, 64 men's teams qualified for All-Academic honors including just two from the SCIAC. 111 women's teams qualified nationally including three from the SCIAC.
