Berliant Finishes Second At NCAA Championships
Taylor Berliant (JR, Sudbury, MA) finished second in the hammer throw at the NCAA Division III Championships in Berea, OH. His mark of 204-1 was a personal best and is the best non-winning throw and tenth best all-time in Division III history. Berliant earned All-American honors by finishing in the top eight for the second consecutive year. He finished third last season. Berliant's eight points gave the Stags a tie for 39th in the final team standings.
Also competing for the Stags at the Championships were Warren Brown-Pounds (SR, Bow, WA), Ryan Pittman (SR, Ashland, OR) and Florian Scheulen (SR, Encinitas). Brown-Pounds finished 10th in the pole vault with a mark of 15-5.5. Pittman was 12th in the decathlon with a score of 6477. Scheulen was 13th in the steeplechase with a time of 9:29.92.
The Athenas were represented at the Championships by Reny Colton (SO, Glendale) and Jennifer Tavé (SO, St. Germain, France). Tavé finished 11th in the 10,000 meters with a time of 37:54.02. Colton finished 12th in the heptathlon with a score of 4349.
