Parented by Jane Urban and Mark Dannenhauer, Rafer Dannenhauer is from Shutesbury, MA.
Other than his running interest, which is considerable, Rafer spends much of his time thinking about jazz music or complexity.   Or sometimes physics or math, his two top choices for a major (though still undecided).  Normally a distance runner, Rafer hopes to run the steeplechase this spring.  A signed picture of Dan Lincoln (AR 3000SC) gives Rafer motivation.

Speaking of motivation, Rafer set his PR in the 5k (15:52) his senior year of high school.  This was achieved by denying himself a hot shower until he broke 16 minutes. In this attempt, he went almost 4 months without a satisfyingly hot shower.  Now at Harvey Mudd College, Rafer has given up such pursuits so that his is not mistaken for a member of Harvey Mudd's East dorm.
