Michael Carroll, a 19 year old Claremont McKenna College sophomore, has fast become one of the SCIAC's top long sprinters. He arrives at CMC by way of Petaluma High School, located in Northern California's picturesque Petaluma, and is pursuing a degree in Management-Engineering. Eventually, Michael would like emphasize in Materials Science Engineering. He also shows the same hard-work on the track. During his freshman year, Michael recorded personal bests of 22.48 in the 200m, 49.88 in the 400m, and 49.4 on a 4x4 baton carry. Additionally at the 2009 SCIAC Championship, Michael placed 5th in the 400m, 4th in the 200m, 2nd in the 4x400m relay, and 1st in the 4x100m relay, which was enough to earn him 1st Team All-SCIAC honors. Furthermore, he was honored by his teammates and coaches to receive the 2009 CMS Carl Rossi award for outstanding freshman. Michael looks forward to the 2010 season and the many opportunities it will present.
