A Junior Government and Asian Studies major at Claremont McKenna College, Kopczynski enjoys the challenge of the 3000 meter Steeplechase and the speed of the 5000 meters. Last year, he placed second in both the Steeplechase and, in a showdown that ended with victory for CMS and a new PR of 14:55 for Kopczynski, the 5000m. In addition, the 6'2'', 165lb 20 year old qualified but missed the cutoff for the national meet in the Steeplechase by a few seconds and a collision with a barrier, with a new PR of 9:19.

A runner all year round, Kopczynski also runs Cross Country for CMS, qualifying for the national meet for the past three years. A native of Southern California, Kopczynski came to CMC from Tesoro High School in Rancho Santa Margarita, speaks Mandarin Chinese, and plans working in law or foreign policy.
