Auerbach Named SCIAC Athlete of the Week

Alex Auerbach (SR, Orinda) was selected SCIAC Athlete of the Week for the week of March 26 - April 1. He ran an NCAA-qualifying time in the 800 meters at the California/Nevada Championships in the prelims and then ran faster the next day in the finals. In the prelims he ran 1:52.93, a personal best by 1.26 seconds, to qualify for the finals and for the NCAA Championships. The final consisted of six Division I runners, two Division II, one NAIA and Auerbach. He finished eighth in the final and improved his time to 1:52.91. His time is currently second in the nation and ninth in CMS history. CMS finished 10th in the meet.
