Lawrence Wang
Title: Assistant Coach
College: Claremont McKenna '09

Lawrence Wang will be remembered as one of CMS Tennis' all-time greats. As a Stag, he was a four-year ITA All-American, and Team MVP. He was the SCIAC Player of the Year for an unprecedented three consecutive years, and during his career was part of teams that never lost a league contest. Wang became the only Stag to ever win the prestigious Ojai Valley singles title in 2009, after winning the doubles title there three years earlier. He and doubles partner Gui Schils captured Ojai (2006), the NCAA Doubles title (2008), the ITA West Region and ITA National Doubles titles (2006). Wang was honored as ITA West Region Rookie of the Year as a freshman, and then Senior Player of the Year in his final season. He was also named CMC Male Athlete of the Year in his final two years as a student-athlete. With 194 career singles and doubles wins, Wang ranks second all-time in CMS history.

A 2009 Claremont McKenna grad who majored in human biology, Wang is currently pursuing a Masters in Public Health at UC Irvine with plans to continue on to medical school. He is the recipient of an NCAA post-graduate scholarship as a result of his exceptional accomplishments in the classroom and on the tennis court.
