On Court: Before
coming to CMS, was a standout on the Menlo School tennis team,
which finished #2 nationally among all high schools in 2003...also
ranked #15 in NorCal in his last year of juniors...as a
freshman completed a very impressive debut season, playing
at #3 singles and #3 doubles (with Senior Aaron Fuhriman)...began
his collegiate career with five (5) consecutive dual match singles
and doubles wins, which earned him 'SCIAC Player of the Week' (Feb
16) and CMS Featured Athlete honors...finished the season with a
12-10 record at #3 singles and a 14-9 record at #3 doubles...one of
three Stags to earn Second Team All-SCIAC honors due to his
outstanding record in league play...as a sophomore
reached the round of 16 of the ITA West Regionals in the
fall...partnered fellow NorCal teammate Eric Chow to reach the
second round of the doubles...came back in the spring to play #3
singles and #2 doubles (with Kyle Ellison) where he had a 15-13
singles record and 16-7 doubles record and again earned Second Team
All-SCIAC honors...was Stags' co-captain with William
Ellison...as a junior lost in the first round of
the singles at the ITA West Regionals in the fall, and reached the
semifinals of the doubles (with Kyle Ellison)...went 8-6 in singles
playing every position except for #4...had match-clinching singles
win at #6 singles in NCAAs against UC Santa Cruz to advance the
Stags to the NCAA quarterfinals...went 10-3 in doubles with Kyle
Ellison, highlighted by a semifinal showing at the Ojai Valley Div
III tournament...as a senior earned ITA
All-American honors in doubles by winning ITA West Regionals and
ITA National Championship with William Ellison...went 6-4 in
singles, highlighted by a
match clinching win at #6 singles against host Gustavus Adolphus in
the quarterfinals of the ITA National Indoors...had a 22-9 record in doubles, playing with
Ellison, Lim, Feldhausen, Narasimhan, and Chow...finished career
with a 41-33 singles record (.554) and a 62-28 doubles record
(.689) for the Stags.
Personal: CMC Intramural Bowling champ with high score of 233 in 2006...an avid music fan, who attended 30+ live shows per year and had a staggering country and college rock cd collection...father Ron is also a CMC Alum.
