Stags Win Third Straight SCIAC Title
CMS finished first at the 2010 SCIAC Swimming & Diving
Championships at Long Beach and won their third straight and 30th
overall SCIAC Championship. CMS finished with 1063.5 points
followed by Redlands (846.5), Pomona-Pitzer (479), Occidental
(250), Cal Lutheran (242), La Verne (212), Whittier (203) and
Caltech (195). Despite winning only three of the 20 events in
the meet, the Stags won going away with their depth.
Second place finishers for the Stags on the third day included
Nick Ostreim (JR, Phoenix, AZ) in the 200 back, Andrew Cosentino
(JR, Greenwich, CT) in the 100 free, Brad Perfect (FR, San Ramon)
in the 200 breast and the team of Austin Hallett (SO, Bainbridge
Island, WA), Stephen Andron (SR, Lafayette), Blake Weber (FR,
Redwood City) and Cosentino in the 400 freestyle relay. Third place
finishers included Brant Kersten (SO, Bellevue, WA) in the 1650
free, Weber in the 200 back and Jordan Lieberman (FR, Princeton,
NJ) in the 200 fly.
NCAA qualifying marks were achieved by the Ostreim and Weber in
the 200 back, Cosentino in the 100 free, Perfect in the 200 breast
and by the 400 free relay.
