Stags Lead After Day One Of SCIAC Championships
The defending SCIAC Champion Stags lead after the first day of
the 2010 SCIAC Swimming & Diving Championships at Long Beach.
CMS has 290 points and are 29 points ahead of their main rivals,
the University of Redlands. CMS only won one of the six events on
the first day, but finished second in four of the events and had
excellent depth throughout.
Andrew Fevery (FR, Laguna Niguel [pictured]) won 1 meter diving.
Second place finishers for the Stags included the team of Ryan
Kristensen (JR, Saugus), Jeff McNerney (SO, Paradise Valley, AZ),
Sean Fitzgerald (FR, Indianopolis, IN) and Devin Bowers (FR,
Sterling, VA) in the 200 freestyle relay, Stephen Andron (SR,
Lafayette) in the 500 free, Blake Weber (FR, Redwood City) in the
200 individual medley, and the team of Weber, Vincent Pai (SO,
Walnut), Austin Hallett (SO, Bainbridge Island, WA) and Kristensen
in the 400 medley relay. Third place finishers included Brant
Kersten (SO, Bellevue, WA) in the 500 free and Kristensen in the 50
free.
NCAA qualifying marks were achieved by Andron in the 500 free,
Weber, Pai and Hallett in the 200 IM and by the 400 medley relay
team.
