Stags Record Fourth Straight Shutout In 2-0 Victory

The Stags traveled to Occidental in hopes of maintaining their shutout streak and bringing back three points for the victory. They started on the right track just after the kickoff. Within one minute of the game's kickoff, Harrison Doyle (FR, Hidden Hills) pushed the Stags in front. David Taylor (FR, Brookline, MA) ran down the line with the speed of a cheetah on a “five hour energy” and whipped a picture perfect cross into the back post where Doyle waited to make the kill. The four-man-freshman-force fired a fantastic finish for the second goal of the match when Jared Bernstein (FR, Los Gatos) turned his defender and struck a shot with the might of Zeus to the back post. The shot soared like the nearly extinct California Condor to the back post where it found the net. Defensively, Tomislav Zbozinek (SR, Paradise Valley, AZ) hoistered down the ship, which on the day looked like a mighty frigate. Ryan Fahey (SR, Bellevue, WA) secured a fourth consecutive shutout, again showing why he is locally known as the Great Wall of Claremont. The Stags held on to the match and earned a 2-0 victory over the Occidental Tigers.  CMS improved to 5-3-1 and 4-1-1 (2nd) in SCIAC.
